Subhash is a consultant otolaryngologist and Head and Neck Surgeon /Clinical Director at CMDHB/Northland Distract Health Board Hospital in New Zealand. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Auckland in New Zealand. He qualified from Govt. Medical College, Bellary in 1992 and following that, completed ORL surgical training in JJMMC Davangere. In 1996, he was awarded the MS degree by the Kuvempu University and Diplomate In National Board [ DNB]. Later, he Joined St. Johns  National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore and worked as Assistant Professor till 2003 and  During this time he developed an interest in Head and Neck Surgery  and went to Dunedin, New Zealand  where he undertook an intensive clinical fellowship in broader aspect of ORL-HNS. He was appointed consultant at Northland Distract Hospital, New Zealand in 2006. He is also appointed as Honorary Lecturer in ORL HN Surgery Department at University of Auckland, NZ since 2008. He is currently an active member of ORL-HN Surgery Training and accreditations committee of New Zealand and a fellow of Royal Australasian college of Surgeons [FRACS].

 

His main interests are Rhinology and head and neck surgery. He has an extensive experience of surgery for Parotid and thyroid surgeries and a member of Multi-disciplinary Head and Neck Tumor clinic in Auckland. FRACS stands for Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, a qualification awarded only to those doctors who have successfully completed several years of rigorous surgical training. Faruque is a consultant ENT/Head and Neck Surgeon with an interest and post-FRACS fellowship training in adult and paediatric ENT, head and neck oncology, thyroid/parathyroid and adult airway open/endoscopic laser surgery.

 

He joined the Westmead  ENT/Head Neck team in October 2012 after a period as a consultant in the head and neck team in Cambridge University Hospitals and is also the consultant in charge of the Westmead Tracheostomy Liaison Service.Faruque commenced his medical degree at UNSW graduating in 2002 with MBBS (Hons 1), obtaining prizes in anatomy and microbiology. He finished basic surgical training in 2005 after obtaining the prize for the highest score for the FRACS part 1 in Australia/NZ.

 

After a series of rotations in the NSW otolaryngology training scheme, including a senior registrar year at Westmead, he was awarded the FRACS (Oto) in 2010. He then embarked on fellowship training to London and Cambridge focusing on adult airway surgery, oncological surgery and thryoid/parathyroid surgery.Recently, Faruque has co-convened the first Sydney Head and Neck dissection course and masterclass 2014, the head and neck section of the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology 2015 and the World Larynx Cancer Congress 2015.Consulting Rooms & Hospitals,Westmead Hospital Hawkesbury Rd, WESTMEAD NSW 2145
